The High Free Church began meeting as fellowship in April 2014. It was clear from the very first services that there was a united and prayerful heart among the people to move forward. Seeking God’s guidance and leading in all that we would do, thanking God for past blessings and now to fix our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith, Jesus Christ.
We are a congregation of all ages, we believe in God’s Word and seek to live by its teaching in our daily lives. We became part of the Free Church of Scotland in October 2014. Our worship style is a mixture of traditional and contemporary. Dependant on God’s grace, we seek to reach others with the gospel message of Jesus Christ and to make disciples of those who are committed to Him, through the study of God’s word and prayer.
What We Believe
High Free Church Stornoway is a congregation of the Free Church of Scotland, the largest Presbyterian Evangelical denomination in Scotland with many commitment to mission overseas.
Our beliefs are based on the Word of God, we believe that the Bible’s teachings are summarised in the Westminster Confession of Faith. This gives clarity where ministers and office bearers subscribe to the great doctrines of the Bible.
We believe God made all things for His own glory. Man was made ‘to glorify God and enjoy him forever’.
Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Old Testament promises and the focus of the whole Bible. He is the one offered as the sacrifice for sin that can heal our broken relationship with God by taking our sins as we seek him in repentance and forgiveness.
